If you own a modded original Xbox (with a chip or a softmod), you can also play XISOs directly from its hard drive.

Forza games lock physics engine calculations to the frame rate. Disabling V-Sync without a frame limiter can cause the game to run at hyperspeed.

This is the most common stumbling block. If you've downloaded a file labeled "Forza Motorsport.iso" but it's actually a full 7GB Redump file, it won't work properly in xemu. You must convert it using extract-xiso as described above. The Xenia emulator is more forgiving with Xbox 360 ISOs, but for original Xbox games, XISO is non-negotiable.
